According to my Dad, I was born @ 9.30am on the 21st of April, 1983 in Taranaki, New Zealand. I was raised in New Plymouth & relocated to Auckland during my highschool years. I spent my youth doin' the usual michief - skateboarding, surfing, painting, reading comic books, and losing control... But it all changed when I bought my first guitar at age 15.

I practised relentlessly, teaching myself how to play, and performed my first real show in front of an audience of approximately 20 people. It seemed like such a big deal at the time but now I will freely admit that it was very, very embarrasing :P

I joined my first high school band 'Reset' with a group of friends, playing mostly 'aggresive, out of time, out of tune, and out of talent punk rock'. It was in this group that I discovered the joy of live performance, a raw hit of adrenaline that has always been the cornerstone of my musical buzz.

It was in a later project called 'Hometown Advantage' that I first met Sam, a vocalist who was auditioned into the group. The group was together for just a couple of short years and it was after the group dispersed that Sam approached me with the idea of forming a musical outfit unlike anything that had come before. Without any other members we began the long process of auditioning musicians to join our idea. After a great length of time and several changes of line up, Sam Polwart, Richard Hurliman, Logan Wedgwood, Alan Grainger, and Peter Rowlands formed 'DonkeyPunk'... A group that was later to become 'Diesel Phoenix' after the exit of Peter on guitar and the addtion of our good friend Carlos Voight.

And as they say, the rest is history.

Being in Diesel Phoenix is a dream come true... These boys are my second family, I feel one hundred percent supported in this group. These guys have some of the most interesting minds I have encountered. Together I believe not only that we can achieve anything, I believe we will do everything that we set our minds to! I am one lucky bastard and I can say with one hundred percent conviction that I am part of the greatest band in the world... Watch out, here we come!
